Growing an Avocado from Seed is Super Easy!
All you need to start out with is a rinsed off avocado seed, 3 toothpicks, a glass of water and a sunny window.
The eye of the seed (normally its the part of the seed that is a bit flat on top and a little lighter in color too) needs to be facing upwards, this is where the tree will start sprouting. The pointy part of the seed needs to face downwards so that the roots can grow in the water.
Make sure the water is kept full so the seed doesn't dry out. After about 4-6 weeks, depending on the sunlight, you will see the seed starting to crack and a stem forming.
I usually wait until the plant has a few leaves forming in order to plant it into a pot. When you plant it make sure the seed isn't completely covered up by soil.
I love how easy avocados are to grow! I only have these avocado plants right now. The tallest one is almost 3 years old, the middle is 1 year old, and the small one is just a few months old.
I love giving them away as gifts to my friends and family. Since avocado plants are so easy to take care, they are the perfect gift, anyone can grow them!
