"Fiddle-Leaf Fig"

The Fiddle-Leaf Fig is one of the most popular indoor plants for large spaces, as it is typically a statement plant plant for rooms. The plant can grow very tall and is known for its large violin-shaped leaves. The plant is native to the tropics and thrives in warm and humid conditions.

How to Care for the Fiddle-Leaf Fig

  • They need bright indirect sunlight. They don't tolerate dim light or full sun well.
  • Water frequently, allowing the soil to dry in between waterings. You can stick your finger in the soil to see if its moist or not.
  • Spray with water or use a humidifier in your home to prevent brown spots on the leaves.
  • Fertilise during growing season.
  • They require well draining soil

Fiddle-figs can be propagated by cuttings, however they require a rooting hormone.

Fiddle-figs are prone to pests such as mites, mealy bugs and scale. Treat immediately. A mite problem will leave the leaves spotted reddish brown and can cause leaves to drop.
