How to Grow Potatoes In A Bag In Your Apartment
Growing Potatoes In Your Apartment Is Much Easier Than You Would Think!
Potato plant
Start by getting seed potatoes from the nursery. Most potatoes from the grocery store are grown with stuff that stunts the growth of buds. The seed potatoes from the nursery also are grown to resist pests and disease.
Set the seed potatoes flat in a cardboard box lid, and spray with water continuously for a couple weeks until sprouts form. They should not get dried out.
Once sprouts start forming put soil in small container and just set the potatoes in individual containers on the soil, this allows for roots to start growing. I made containers out of orange juice boxes.
After a few weeks when the roots have grown and a potato plant starts emerging from the seed potatoes then you need to trasplant to a larger container. I used a cloth growing sack from the nursery. Burlap sacks and reusable shopping bags also work nicely. Plant two or three potatoes into each container. As the plant grows continually fill the container with soil.
Water regularly, ensuring that the to soil near the bottom also gets water.
Potatoes are ready to be harvested after about ten weeks.

Fine. I had a lot of them indoors (in the greenhouse). Outdoors they looked like this:
