How To Propagate Monstera Deliciosa
Monsteras Are Easy To Propagate Because They Form Aeriel Roots.
Monstera is a tropical plant with many varieties, this one is Monstera Deliciosa. In the wild these plants grow up as vines towards the light. Some of the leaves can grow to 3ft wide.
The propagation method I chose to do is from a cutting of the plant.
I noticed a few roots forming and cut a stem off as far down as I could, and set the cutting in water.
It is better if the branch extends a few more centimetres further down from the root than how I cut mine, but I didn't want to damage the branch that it was growing from.
You can choose to also plant this directly into soil directly and then water thoroughly.

Is it better to put it in water first instead of directly into the soil?
Best regards, Niklas 🎈

Putting in water first is not necessary. I just think the cuttings look nice in a vase.

Another Monstera cutting!
That root is growing outside of the glass, haha.

Aren't you afraid that the glass will fall over? :-)
Best regards, Niklas 🎈

Haha, I think it would be okay if it fell over. The glass already has a crack in it so if that breaks its fine and the root that is growing out of the glass would break the fall.
I'm thinking about selling or trading this one. That's why I haven't put it in soil yet.

When I was a kid mom had a Monstera that was as high as the ceeling and had a pot that was about a half kubic metre big!
But when we moved she had to cut it down since it was not possile to move, too bad she didn't know that tip back then
