Have you started your spring garden?
The weather in Stockholm has been a little bit nicer! Feeling a bit more like spring ☺️🌸🌱 So I decided to clean my balcony and get rid of any thing that needed to be thrown away, like dead plants etc. I will be gone this summer for an internship, so I won’t be doing a lot of gardening this season. I planted a few flowers which are easy to take care of, as well as some Dahlia bulbs. And that is all I will be doing out there. I don’t want to make it to much work for my boyfriend while I am gone. 😅

Do you love this peach flowers. That's how it looks like today. Hope we will get peaches this year, too.

Oh they are so pretty! I never knew you could grow peaches in this climate. I hope your tree grows a bunch of them! Peaches and nectarines are my favourite fruit

#5: Many years back I heard about the hill north of Hagaparken (in Stockholm). It used to be a dump where they left household garbage. At one time they found a peach tree growing there, and I think hey said it had peaches. Someone’s thrown away peach core had grown into a tree. 🙂

I like my own trees. I use cores from a lot of trees and have this peach tree , and a walnut tree, some appel trees and a lot of other. When or if they give fruits, I will see what kind of trees I have.
Here are some photos from last year and in the top of the thread you can see something about my walnut tree.

Come June I will be moving back home for a short while with my mother, she has recently moved into a flat and we have full ownership of this garden. Do you have any inexpensive ideas of garden activities we could do with it?

#9 I have no idea what could be done but wow, that looks like a dream place to create a garden!
"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."

Build a miniature golf course and surround it with flowers and green plants. 😀

#9 I would definately start small but with something rewarding, It looks like that spot gets a lot of sun. Are you interested in growing some veggies, fruit or flowers? I would reccommend: Spring bulbs, such as Dahlias. You must plant these soon, they are inexpensive and you can preserve the bulbs for next year after the summer. Zucchini or cucumber from a plant is quite easy to grow. Just get a bigger pot for it and something for the wine to grow on. Or a paprika plant which would take a smaller pot- they like a lot of sun too. For fruit, you can try something like raspberries. They need a large pot But they are cut back after the summer/fall to be grown again next year.

#12: Blackberries also like sun, grow larger and should be cut down after bearing fruit. I like them better. 😀

#12 Very true! Love them too

They are great with merengue ice cream and for making jam.

#10 I love that it's a blank canvas and minimal effort, no need for a lawnmower!
#11 That is an amazing idea, I love it!
#12 Thank you for your suggestions, the specifics are just what I needed to hear! I think I will combine this with Niklas' idea. Let's just hope my mum approves.

#16: There is a good rule of thumb when it comes to who can decide on what to do in cases like this. The one willing to do the job decides what and how to do. That usually weeds out those with ideas and opinions, but no energy to realize them.
