My little concrete garden 2023
We are discussing andplanning on what to sow and the layout for the small space.
If I must have Tigerella tomatoes I need to put that pot in a different spot where I easier can bind it up, but I think I love the Tiny tim tomatoe better, so maybe have two pots for them.

Hope your garden will be as nice as it uses to be.

Good idea to start planning! Have you tried growing cucumbers before? I love growing the round yellow cucumbers.

#2 i have not, atleast since I moved in here. Think I had some when I lived in Borås. Only thing I really miss from the time I lived there, my HUGE balcony.
Hostess at Bead Craft

Oh bummer, I do envy those who have huge balconies with plenty of sunlight.
Have you tried growing djungelgurka (mouse melons)? I wonder if they can be grown on a balcony.
Host of Apartment Gardening | Ashtanga Yoga | Literature | Migraine
That one got my interest. I got some "Äppelgurka" (Cucumis sativus) I might try out
Hostess at Bead Craft

I'm also trying that out this year! But I agree, I saw the Mouse Melon cucumbers on a gardener's TikTok last night and thought they would be perfect to throw into summer salads. I might have to try to grow them this year too.

I think I will skip on the Tigerella tomatoes this year and maybe have two of the Tiny Tim tomato. And since my lime and kalamodin didn`t survive I might put some cucumber up against that wall.

I would like to try lemon and lime outside, but it must be really hard. I tried lemon indoors a few times, but it died as they seem to be very prone to spider mites. I wonder if it needs to be grown a green house, even during the summer? Have you heard of this lemon? I was looking up what a kalamodin citrus was and found it. It looks like monster fingers haha.

They do need a lot f sun and a place that is´nt to windy, So where I had them on this balcony was perfect, the brickwall got a lot of sun and kept them warm and cozy
That one looks like something I would like to have. But the PRICE??
Hostess at Bead Craft

It is pricey!

I was really tempted to buy a kumquat yesterday, but I couldn´t decide, so maybe later?
Hostess at Bead Craft
And the tomatoes are coming too
Hostess at Bead Craft

Looking good! Did you start the Rhubarb from seed?
Host of Apartment Gardening | Ashtanga Yoga | Literature | Migraine
No I won the rhubarbplant, at a fleamarket many years ago.( I think it was 2009 or 2010)
Hostess at Bead Craft
Wish I had a bigger balcony. Found this site yesterday and I´m really tempted.

I was trying to grow one from seed but out of the three seedlings I had only one survived and I don't think it will make it. So I just ordered this vinrabarber https://www.wramsskafferi.se/produkt/spangsbjerg-rabarber
It's supposed to be a good one for pies.
And those dwarf fruit trees are so tempting! I thought I would plant some one my lot but I think it would be too tight.

It´s growing a lot
first the gooseberries
Hostess at Bead Craft
After that the white currants lots of small berries and behind that bush, one of the chivepots, not much to se, since I already harvested it.
Hostess at Bead Craft
And same with the rhubarb and in the pot beside it the Tiny Tim tomatoes
Hostess at Bead Craft
An the we have some parsley and two different kind of chives. And we got a cute little blue bowl for birds to drink from.
Hostess at Bead Craft
And last but not least the red currants
Hostess at Bead Craft
And we have a new pot in the concretegarden: The potatopot
Hostess at Bead Craft

Looks great! Have you been able to harvest anything yet? 😊
Host of Apartment Gardening | Ashtanga Yoga | Literature | Migraine
Yes, the chive and rhubarb. The other berries need some more time
Hostess at Bead Craft

That’s great!
Host of Apartment Gardening | Ashtanga Yoga | Literature | Migraine
And here´s a picture from the potatopot
Hostess at Bead Craft
Today´s harvest. Sadly it looks like this is all I´m going to get from the red currants
Hostess at Bead Craft

Any updates on the garden?

Feels like everything is going much slower this year. At this time las year I had a lot of tomatoes on the Tiny Tim plant, this year i still hasn´t blossomed yet and is very small😥
I have harvested some chives and parsley and the white currants are ready soon.
Hostess at Bead Craft
Look what I got to harvest today😁
some white currant and one red gooseberry
Hostess at Bead Craft

The rain has truly been miserable this summer 😩 a lot of my plants have been eaten my slugs. Plus I had a few big winter squash and someone stole them all.
Host of Apartment Gardening | Ashtanga Yoga | Literature | Migraine
I don´t know what to say about this summer, well I guess I have next summer to look forward too. Hopefully it will be better.
Sad to hear that people can´t let others have what they worked for😥
Hostess at Bead Craft
Finally my Tiny Tim is blossoming. Hopefully we get some nice weather,, in september, so I might get some tomatoes
Hostess at Bead Craft

Fingers crossed for good weather 🤞🙏☀️
