I got access to my garden lot!

I got the “keys” to my garden lot over the weekend. It’s 5.8 by 5.8 meters (19 by 19 ft). I’ve spent the weekend planning out how I will organize the raised beds and the layout of the garden.

It’s going to take a lot of work once the ground isn’t as frozen to clean up the weeds and remove the plants that I don’t want. I’m not sure what the previous gardener was growing but I will have only raised beds so most of what is there will have to go.

Congratulations! I can imagine how that feels. How does it work? Who’s your “landlord”? Is it expensive?

Best regards, Niklas 🎈

Thank you! Its 1150kr for the everything deposit, fees, etc. The yearly cost is less than that. There are meetings twice a year and some cleaning rules and similar things like that. You can borrow wheel barrows and gardening tools. You aren't allowed to have glass things or building buildings. But you can plastic green houses and add raised beds and a fence as long as its under 70cm. But the metal things for growing vining plants can be tall as long as its not too obtrusive. The waiting list is free. Other places require a small yearly fee to wait in line. And you have the lot as long as you care for the land, pay the yearly fee and keep up with your duties.
